Product Description

Product Description

The design of NEWORLD double row angular contact ball bearings (fig. 1) corresponds to two single row angular contact ball bearings arranged back-to-back, but takes up less axial space They can accommodate radial loads, axial loads in either direction and tilting moments Double row angular contact ball bearings provide stiff bearing arrangements.

NEWORLD double row angular contact ball bearings are manufactured to P6 dimensional accuracy and P6 running accuracy. Additionally, a new crown cage and improvements to the raceway/ shoulder contact area have further enhanced the performance of these bearings. Seals and shields are also available. For end users, the result is decreased need for maintenance and longer machine uptime – benefits that can result in lower costs and enhanced productivity.

Features and benefits

●  Less axial space

Can be used for applications where two single row angular contact ball bearings arranged back-to-back take up too much axial space.

●  Accommodates radial as well as axial loads in either direction

●  Accommodates tilting moments

●  Stiff bearing arrangement

●  Manufactured from ultra-clean steel

●  P6 running accuracy and P6 dimensional accuracy

●  High axial load carrying capacity

●  Unique raceway-shoulder transition

●  New crown cage

●  Upgraded balls

User benefits

●  Extended bearing service life

●  Less sensitive to heavy axial loads

●  Improved wear-resistance

●  Reduced lubricant consumption

●  Reduced noise and vibration levels

●  Reduced heat generated by the bearing

●  Reduced need for maintenance

●  Enhanced productivity

Performance Benefits:

●  Ceramic rolling elements reduce friction and add stiffness

●  Surface treatments help to raise temperature performance

●  Special seals retain lubricant and prevent contamination ingress

●  Higher stiffness gives better clutch response and longer service life

●  Many standard and customised versions available

Bearing design

Designs and variants

The NEWORLD standard assortment of double row angular contact ball bearings (fig. 2) includes:

   ●  bearings in the 32 A and 33 A series

   ●  bearings in the 33 D series

   ●  capped bearings

   ●  open bearings (that are also available capped) that may have recesses in the ring side faces

Bearings in the 52 and 53 series are no longer available and have been replaced with 32 A and 33 A series bearings, which are dimensionally interchangeable. Only size 3200 A is different, and has a width of 14 mm instead of 14,3 mm.

Bearings with a two-piece inner ring

   ●  incorporate a larger number of balls, and have a larger contact angle, giving the bearing its high load

carrying capacity, especially in the axial direction

   ●  are separable in the 33 D series, i.e. the outer ring with ball and cage assemblies can be mounted

independently of the inner ring halves

   ●  are non-separable in the 33 DNRCBM series

◌  have a snap ring groove with a snap ring in the outer ring, enabling simple and space-saving axial

           location in the housing

◌  have been designed specifically for centrifugal pumps, but can also be used in other applications

Capped bearings

NEWORLD supplies the most common basic design and special bearings capped with a contact seal or shield on both sides.

Shields

   ●  are identified by designation suffix 2Z (fig. 4)

   ●  are made of sheet steel

   ●  extend into a recess on the inner ring

Contact seals

   ●  are identified by designation suffix 2RS1 (fig. 5)

   ●  are made of NBR

   ●  are reinforced with a sheet steel insert

   ●  are fitted in a recess on the outer ring and make good, positive contact with the recess

   ●  have a lip that exerts light pressure against the recess on the inner ring to provide an effective seal

When capped bearings must operate under certain conditions, such as very high speeds or high temperatures, grease may appear between the inner ring and capping device. For bearing arrangements where this would be detrimental, appropriate actions should be taken.

Cages

Cages

NEWORLD double row angular contact ball bearings are as standard equipped with either a cage made of PA66 or of stamped steel, among others, as shown in table 3. When used at high temperatures, some lubricants can have a detrimental effect on polyamide cages.

Temperature limits

The permissible operating temperature for angular contact ball bearings can be limited by:

●   the dimensional stability of the bearing rings and balls

●   the cage

●   the seals

●   the lubricant

Where temperatures outside the permissible range are expected, contact NEWORLD.

Bearing rings and balls

The bearings are heat stabilized up to at least 150 °C (300 °F).

Cages

Steel or brass cages can be used at the same operating temperatures as the bearing rings and balls. For temperature limits of cages made of other polymer materials, refer to Polymer cages.

Seals

The permissible operating temperature for NBR seals is –40 to +100 °C (–40 to +210 °F). Temperatures up to 120 °C (250 °F) can be tolerated for brief periods. Typically, temperature peaks are at the seal lip.
